Apple has now started offering the unlocked version of the new iPhone 5 in the US, this is the GSM model, and prices start at $649 for the 16GB model, if you want the 32GB model this will set you back $749 and the 64GB model is available for $849.
These unlocked GSM models will work with T-Mobile and AT&T in the US, and you will not need to take out a new contract with the carries to use the device on their network.
